A signature Kiehl’s ingredient, Squalane is a highly refined botanical lipid derived from sugar cane. With an exceptional affinity to skin, this ingredient absorbs easily. Within our formulas it is known to help replenish skin’s barrier keeping it soft, supple and moisturised.
GLACIAL GLYCOPROTEIN
Within our formulas, Glacial Glycoprotein helps to deeply hydrate and maintain skin’s moisture balance.
PRO-CERAMIDES

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SQUALANE AND SQUALENE?
While they are related, Squalane and Squalene are not identical. Squalane is the hydrogenated form of Squalene. Squalene is naturally occurring in our bodies and makes up around 13% of the skin’s sebum, helping to protect the skin’s barrier and seal in moisture.
HOW IS THE SQUALANE IN ULTRA FACIAL CREAM SOURCED?
Squalane can be derived from several different natural resources. In our moisturising cream, we use Squalane derived from olives and sugar cane. Kiehl’s never formulates with animal-derived Squalane.

Our moisturising cream is non-comedogenic and will not clog pores.
DOES ULTRA FACIAL CREAM HAVE SPF?
Our original Ultra Facial Cream is formulated without SPF. We do have an SPF version; Ultra Facial Cream SPF30. Hydrate, smooth and soften with a daily facial moisturiser now with broad spectrum UVA and UVB sun protection.
